Since her youth, Orinthia has been an active community builder in the Afro-Caribbean community. Orinthia received her Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Entrepreneurship & Marketing and possess over 15 years of business management experience.

In 2017, she created & hosted Winnipeg’s the first natural hair meet up called the Naturally Gorgeous Curly Hair Event. Since then, she has become a mobile Certified Natural Hair Consultant (CNHC) and a stylist that’s turned Natually Gorgeous Curls into an educational, supportive, pro-curl mobile e-commerce store specializing in African hair and curly hair types.

Since writing is her other passion, she has been a journalist for 8 years and acquired her Media Communications Diploma in 2021. Orinthia has worked as a reporter, associate producer, camera operator, and in various writer / communications roles. As a freelance journalist, she has hosted and moderated numerous community and business events. With experience working in film, she is also an emerging writer / director / producer that co-created a short film last year and loves all things media.
